Cthulhu Wizard in progress, part IV: things get strange(r)

I've been feeling a bit under the weather these last couple days, so it seemed appropriate to start to work on some of the more alien aspects of the painting.  Who knows, maybe I can channel my fevered visions through my brush and onto the artwork?  You be the judge....

The blue/green tints are far too strong in this photo, they're not quite as pervasive in the original.  Though there's plenty more to be done up top, you can get a better sense of the results of the wizard's spell.

YES! That is what I have been waiting to see. The Lovecraft co-existence of dimensions.

Heh... just you wait, it's not done yet and there's more to go!    Though I guess I could take it to further extremes in diversity, I think it would ultimately risk losing any coherency as an image.  The balancing act is the diversity vs the aesthetic.

Paul, I love it. I like it from the hands down, but it is brilliant from the hands up. Are you going to add some texture to the bottom to keep it balanced with the awesome top? Probably a naive question, but I really do love the perspective shift in the context of the image. Hope you are well!

      Chuck!

There is some more of the foreground to be fleshed out, especially the round carpet and the glowing green shapes (likely to become crystals).  I'd been leaving the floorboards a bit bare at this point until I saw whether it needed more attention once the top areas were resolved.  The top is now even busier than the recent photo, and I am wondering whether the contrast between the top and bottom (top: more complex and colorful. bottom: simpler and more color restraint) helps push the idea of the warp in reality.  I had thought about a little extra detail in the foreground/bottom to suggest previous rituals, I think I may still do that.
